Genesis of the relationship between Naira Marley and Mohbad

Naira Marley is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. His real name is Azeez Adeshina Fashola. He is known for his unique style of music, which is a blend of Afrobeats and hip-hop. Naira Marley derived his stage name from Jamaican singer Bob Marley, whom he admires, and his dreadlocks are also a tribute to the singer.

He is the founder of Marlian Records which Mohbad was once part of the music family. However, they had a public dispute and eventual separation.

The relationship between the duo never got good, and some fans feel that Naira Marley isn’t entirely innocent regarding Mohbad’s untimely demise.

Despite this, Naira Marley shared his heartfelt sentiments on Instagram, stating that Mohbad was not just an artist or signee but a cherished brother and that he is shattered by his death.

Marlian Records also expressed their heartfelt condolence to the family of the late singer Mohbad.

Before his death Mohbad in an interview, explained the recent controversies around his relationship with label boss, Naira Marley.

The reason for his exit was not made public at the time. However, in September 2023, Mohbad passed away, and there were speculations that his death was linked to his time at Marlian Records.

Also Lil Smart, another artist who left Marlian Records, claimed that two people ran mad before he, Lil Smart left the label.
