How P-Square brothers separated for years and reunited
The Okoye brothers popularly known as P-Square, took their fanbase by surprise in 2017 after they separated following family feud.
P-Square is a Nigerian music duo consisting of twin brothers Paul and Peter Okoye. They were pioneers of the Afrobeats sound and have released six studio albums and collaborated with big names in the industry.
However, in 2017, they broke up to pursue solo music careers behind their pseudonyms RudeBoy (Paul) and Mr. P. (Peter). Peter also ventured into acting.
Their breakup created buzz on social media, because theirs is the first and longest family feud in the celebrity corner. Most of thought were not going to reconcile.
The reasons for their split was family feud which they allowed have a hetch on their careers. These they explained collectively in a 2017 interview where they cited differences in management, creative differences, and disrespect for each other’s families.
The brothers remained separated for four years until they reconciled in November 2021, putting an end to their years-long bitter feud. The twin brothers also performed together at their 40th birthday bash in November 2021.
They reunited on their 40th birthday and shared a viral video of them embracing. They have since released a single called “Jaiye (Ihe Geme)” to promote their “100 Cities World Tour” and are working on their first album in nine years, which they plan to release in 2023.
However inspite of their reunion, Peter Okoye has downplayed the possibility of the brothers staying together until retirement.
