'I'll take legal action if you don't refrain from airing my content' - Ruth Kadiri warns
Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri has called out a Ghanian Television that have broadcasting her content without prior authorization.
Taking to her Instagram page, Ruth Kadiri registered her displeasure at Ghanian Television stations airing her movie without giving her credit as the producer. She also disclosed that she will take legal action if they don’t desist from such.
According to her she has a lot of love for Ghana but she is disappointed that TV stations would take her content, edit, and broadcast it as if they have license.
The mother of two added that this is the first and last time she would warn TV stations doing such and would take legal action if reoccur.
We are in the GenZ age and with the aid of social media, it is easy to make use of someone else’s work without authorization. The only way out in most cases is a legal action.
She said,
“I have a lot of love for the entire country, but I’m deeply disappointed that a major TV station in Ghana would take my content, edit it, and broadcast it as if they have the license to do so. And it’s not just one station, it’s multiple. I’ve hesitated to watermark my content because I believe it would detract from its quality. This is my first warning, and it will be the last because if it happens again, you will hear from my legal team.”
