Kuje Prison Attack: Court Denies Abba Kyari Bail
A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, dismissed the fresh bail application filed by suspended DCP Abba Kyari.
Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling, maintained that Kyari had not given enough grounds for the application to be granted.
The judge stated that the detained police officer was unable to raise fresh facts in his recent application after being denied the earlier bail request.
Nwite consequently adjourned the matter until Oct 19, October 20 and 21 to keep up with the trial.
The judge had, on July 20, fixed today for the ruling on the bail plea filed by Kyari and other police officers charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for drug offence.
Kyari had prayed the court for another bail as a result of the attack on Kuje Correctional Centre by terrorists who released scores of their members.
