Kwankwaso Vows To Diminish APC Votes In Kano Ahead Of 2027 Elections
Former Kano State Governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has pledged to significantly reduce the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) votes in Kano State during the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso made the declaration on Wednesday while hosting a group of former councillors and senior special advisers from the previous administration, alongside stakeholders from the Tsanyawa Local Government Area, at his residence in Kano.
Reflecting on the 2023 elections, Kwankwaso credited the hard work and dedication of his New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) team for sidelining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano, leaving it with only 15,000 votes. Despite being a newly formed political platform with a late start to its campaign, the NNPP emerged as a formidable force in the state.
He declared, “Now, it’s our turn to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano come 2027.”
Kwankwaso emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilisation and unwavering commitment to cement the NNPP’s position as a dominant political force in Kano and beyond. He urged his supporters to remain focused and dedicated to achieving resounding success in future elections.
The former governor’s remarks highlight his determination to redefine the political landscape in Kano, leveraging the growing strength of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and the NNPP to challenge the dominance of established parties in the state.
