Lagos State Government Places Chrisland High School On Probation
The Lagos State Government through the state’s commissioner of education, Folasade Adefisayo has announced that it has placed Chrisland High School, Ikeja, on probation for one academic session to monitor adherence to safety policies and guidelines.
This is following the death of Whitney Adeniran – a pupil of the school who lost her life during the school’s inter-house sports competition at the Agege Stadium, in the Agege Local Government Area of the state.
The probation placed on the school was disclosed in a press statement posted on the Lagos state government’s official website.
The government also instructed the management of Chrisland Schools to implement short and long-term reforms in school governance.
It also directed the schools’ management to recruit a certified Risk Manager to conduct and render a detailed analysis of risk management of the group of schools and ensure all students, staff, and stakeholders of the school affected by the death of the late Miss Adeniran are given psycho-social therapy and trauma counselling.
