Leeds United Sign Maximilian Wober From Red Bull Salzburg

Leeds United has announced the signing of Maximilian Wober from Red Bull Salzburg.

The 24-year-old signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the premier league side, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2023.

The deal, which is thought to be worth around £10.6m, sees Wober reunite with Leeds boss Jesse Marsche, who signed him for Salzburg for a similar fee in 2019.

Wober, who can also play at centre-back, made 125 appearances for Salzburg in total, scoring nine goals.

During his time at the club, the 13-time Austria international won the Austrian league and cup double three times in a row.

Wober, who will wear the number 39 shirt at Elland Road, could make his debut for Leeds when they face Cardiff City in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
