Man Sets Himself ablaze In Benue Because of 3 Years Rent Debt
A staff of Gwer local government secretariat, Aliade, Benue state , Aondona Yaga, died in a fire in Benue over 3 years rent debt.
The young man was said to have set himself ablaze in the early hours of Wednesday, 9th of December, 2020 because he could not pay his for over 3 years.
According to his grandmother who was seen around his abandoned corpse, the young man had been facing difficulty because he wasn’t paid his allowance for almost three years.
He eventually fell sick and couldn’t find money to treat himself. Frustrated, he decided to commit suicide. On Wednesday morning, he entered his thatched room and set it on fire.
Information Officer of Gwer Local Government, Mr. Chris Avi has confirmed the incident but didn’t give further details.
