Manchester United’s Match Against Brighton Has Been Postponed Due To Covid-19 Outbreak
Manchester United’s home match against Brighton has been moved to another date due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak at the club.
A Premier League statement said that United had been left unable to field a team for the match at Old Trafford after “additional positive tests” were recorded on Thursday.
The Premier League made the decision to call off the match based on “guidance from medical advisors” following a coronavirus outbreak among United’s squad and backroom staff.
Training operations at the club’s Carrington complex have also been suspended for “a short period” to help reduce the risk of further transmission.
A number of top flight clubs are calling for the Premier League to shutdown until January due to alarming spike in Covid-19 cases, with at least four not anticipating much football to be played in the coming weeks.
