Manchester United’s Match With Brentford Postponed Due To Covid-19 Outbreak
Manchester United’s match with Brentford has been moved to another date as a result of Covid-19 outbreak.
The Premier League made the decision to postpone “based on guidance from medical advisors,” said a Manchester United statement issued late Monday.
The decision comes after United became the latest top-flight team to be hit by a coronavirus outbreak, which forced the closure of their Carrington training complex.
The Premier League also announced on Monday a record 42 players and staff tested positive for COVID in the previous week, the highest number since 40 cases were reported in January.
Brentford released a statement apologising to the club’s fans for the “disruption” but added that they “respect” the decision and that the “health and safety of both clubs’ players and staff must always come first“.
