Mohammed Salah Wins Premier League Player Of The Month Award For October
Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has won the Premier League Player of the Month award for October.
The Reds took seven points from an available nine during last month’s Premier League fixtures, with Salah playing a starring role.
Jurgen Klopp’s side kicked off the month with a 2-2 draw away at Brighton & Hove Albion in which Salah grabbed a quick-fire brace just before half-time at the Amex Stadium.
Following the October international break, Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 at Anfield in the first Merseyside derby of the season. The Toffees were reduced to ten men in the first half and shut up shop for the second 45, but they were undone by a late Salah brace.
Salah rounded off a fine October with the final goal in Liverpool’s 3-0 triumph at home to Nottingham Forest, and he has now won the Premier League Player of the Month award for the fifth time in his career.
Though he was heavily linked with a Saudi Pro League during the summer transfer window and continues to be tipped to head to the Middle East, Salah has not let such speculation disrupt his form. In 16 games for Liverpool across all competitions so far this season, he has supplied ten goals and four assists.
Salah is joint-second in the Premier League scoring charts with a total of eight goals alongside Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min, with reigning Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland out in front with 11 goals.
Liverpool sit third in the Premier League table heading into the final round of fixtures before the international break, though could end the weekend top of the standings if results go their way. They welcome Brentford to Anfield on Sunday.
