MultiChoice Launches New Channel And Three Others On DStv And GOtv

Pay-TV operator, MultiChoice Group, has announced a major rebranding of its SuperSport variety channels across its DStv and GOtv platforms. The update, which took effect on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, was unveiled in a statement by Tope Oshunkeye, the Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa.

As part of the revamp, the SuperSport Select Channel has been renamed SuperSport Africa, bringing with it a renewed focus on sports content relevant to African audiences. Additionally, a new channel, SuperSport Action, has been launched, which will offer a wider array of sports, including UFC matches and extra coverage of the UEFA Champions League.

Changes on GOtv

The rebranding has brought specific changes to the GOtv platform, especially across various packages:

On the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli packages, SuperSport Africa will replace Select 2 (Channel 64).

For subscribers on the GOtv Max package, SuperSport Africa and SuperSport Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 and 64).

•SuperSport Action will replace Select 3 (Channel 69) on the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus bouquets.

These updates aim to enhance the viewer experience, offering more comprehensive sports content. Oshunkeye emphasized the motivation behind the changes: “The channel revamp is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our sports offering and provide customers with more unbeatable sports content that resonates with them.”

More Sports Content for Viewers

The new channels will deliver top-tier sports coverage from around the globe, featuring a wide range of events such as local boxing, UFC fights, and in-depth analysis of various sporting events. Oshunkeye reiterated MultiChoice’s commitment to offering premium services, stating, “We remain dedicated to delivering the best sporting action to our customers and continuously exploring ways to delight them with more choices, exciting live content, and great value.”

How to Subscribe and Stream

Subscribers are encouraged to manage their subscriptions, reconnect, or upgrade their packages through the MyGOtv App or by dialing *288#. Additionally, they can stream their favorite sports content on the go via the GOtv Stream app, ensuring they don’t miss out on the latest sporting action wherever they are.

With this channel revamp, MultiChoice continues to strengthen its position as a leading provider of sports entertainment, delivering content tailored for African audiences while offering greater flexibility and variety to subscribers.
