National Sports Festival Postponed Again,To Hold April

The 20th edition of the National Sports Festival has again been postponed to April 2021.

The festival was scheduled to hold from February 14 to 28 in Benin City, the Edo State capital, before it suffered its latest postponement.

In attendance were the commissioers of youth and sports from the states of the federation and director of sports

Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, announced the development on Monday at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing in Abuja.

The National Council on Sports did not provide an exact date in April when the games will take place and that confirms the growing uncertainty and harsh reality of Covid-19 pandemic on sporting activities in Nigeria.

The games,which Nigeria is hoping will help in preparing it’s contingent for the Olympics games in Tokyo this year have already been postponed twice.
