NCAA Says Arik Air’s Operations Remains Unaffected Despite Court-Ordered Grounding of Aircraft
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has clarified that Arik Air’s flight operations have not been suspended or halted. In a statement by Mr. Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, it was emphasized that Arik Air continues to operate its flights as scheduled, and its overall ability to operate its remaining fleet is unaffected.
The clarification comes in light of a court order that led to the grounding of three Arik Air aircraft (5NMJF, 5NMJQ, 5NBKX) following a Supreme Court decision. The NCAA reiterated its commitment to complying with regulatory and safety standards while ensuring minimal disruption to Arik Air’s operations.
It was also emphasized that the action taken does not constitute a suspension of Arik Air’s entire operations by either the NCAA or the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, contrary to some reports.
The statement concluded by thanking the public for their understanding and patience as Arik Air manages through this situation.
