Nigeria Police Council Confirms Kayode Egbetokun As Substantive IG

The Nigeria Police Council has confirmed the acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as the substantive IGP.

Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, revealed this on Tuesday in an interview after a meeting of the council presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Geidam made it known that Egbetokun’s confirmation follows his satisfactory discharge of duties in the past three months since his appointment on June 20.

He noted that Egbetokun has also provided a blueprint for ensuring the security of the country, which indicates his suitability for the office.
