NLC President Ajaero Appears At Police HQ Amid Terrorism Investigation
Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has arrived at the Headquarters of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) following an invitation by the police. The invitation, which was extended last week, called on Ajaero to appear at the IRT Headquarters on August 20 at 10 am to address allegations of his involvement in terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony.
Although Ajaero was unable to attend on the originally scheduled date, he committed to honoring the invitation today. He arrived at the premises on Thursday at precisely 10:17 am, accompanied by a high-profile legal team and senior officials of the NLC. Among those with him were Femi Falana, SAN, a renowned human rights lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, Deji Adeyanju, and other senior NLC officials.
The IRT, part of the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigeria Police Force, is tasked with handling complex and sensitive investigations. Ajaero’s appearance is expected to draw significant attention, given the serious nature of the allegations and his prominent position within the NLC.
