NPHCDA Begins Online Registration Of Nigerians For COVID-19 Vaccination
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has commenced online registration of Nigerians interested in taking COVID-19 vaccination ahead of the Tuesday arrival of the first batch of the nation’s vaccines.
The agency disclosed this in a series of messages posted on its Twitter handle,on Monday.
Nigeria is expected to receive almost four million doses of the vaccine on Tuesday courtesy of COVAX, a global initiative backed by the World Health Organisation.
Earlier on Monday, the Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, noted that frontline health workers would be one of the first set of people to get the vaccine.
“We will be bringing this experience to the COVID-19 vaccination and reduce hitches. They will need to be scheduled for this by filling the EMID. Those who are not health workers will be made aware of when they can get their turn. Those who can’t fill the EMID will be assisted, and for those who don’t have access to the EMID, house-to-house registration will be carried out to get them on the database for vaccination”.he said.
