Ogun Governor Approves Reconstruction Of Key Roads Across The State

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has assured that no part of the state will be excluded from his administration’s developmental projects in the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2025 budget. He emphasized that projects will be distributed evenly across the state’s three senatorial districts, in line with the 2024 budget.

Speaking at a town hall meeting held at the Bisi Rodipe Event Center in Ijebu-Ode, Abiodun, represented by Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner for Finance, Dapo Okubadejo, highlighted key infrastructural projects in the Ogun East Senatorial District. These include the reconstruction of roads such as the Imoro-Imegun-Opopo road, Igbeba-Eid praying ground to Prison road, and the Odelewu-Ladeshi-Ishiwo road.

The governor also revealed that over 64 kilometers of rural roads are under construction, a critical step in boosting rural accessibility and supporting agricultural productivity across Ogun State.

Abiodun further noted the state’s collaboration with Lagos and Oyo governments to enhance security along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway through the procurement of 25 patrol vans and surveillance drones. Additionally, the ongoing construction of the Gateway International Agro-cargo Airport is expected to transform Ogun into a major logistics hub in the region.

Abiodun shared that his administration has completed over 600 kilometers of roads statewide, with 243.3 kilometers completed in Ogun East. Among these are roads like Chris-Ogunbajo-Erunwon Road and internal roads within Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Olaolu Olabimtan, disclosed that 90% of the inputs from previous town hall meetings were included in the 2024 budget, while remaining suggestions would be factored into the 2025 budget and MTEF. Royal fathers, including Oba Toye Alatishe and Oba Abdul-Rasaq Adenugba, commended the administration for the inclusive approach, pledging continued support for the state’s development plans.
