Petrol Tanker Falls In Lagos, Spills Contents.
A yet-to-be-identified driver of a petrol filled truck has been on the run after he lost control of the vehicle at Tincan, in Lagos State, on Friday.
It was discovered that the truck upturned after the driver ran into a pothole around 7.30 am, and the content being taken to another location in the state, spilled on the road.
The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident and said no casualty was recorded, he also added that emergency responders had gone to the scene to manage the situation.
According to him, “The Agency has activated its response plan to the incident in which a tanker with an unknown number plate loaded with PMS lost control, rammed into a pothole and upturned.
“This incident has resulted in spillage of content. No casualties involved at the scene while the LRT, NUPENG, LASG Fire, and Nigerian Police are joint responders collaborating together to manage the scene.
“Officials of NUPENG are doing everything within their purview to facilitate the transloading. However, the team and other responders are firmly on the ground to curtail any secondary incident.”
