President Tinubu, APC Governors, Others In Closed-Door Meeting
Presently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is convening with Governors from the All Progressives Congress(APC), under the aegis of the Progressives Governors Forum at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which commenced shortly after 1 pm, comes amid increasing calls for nationwide protests against economic hardship.
While the specific agenda for Thursday’s meeting has not been disclosed, it is likely related to the planned protests slated for August 1-10.
The protests, organized under the hashtag ‘EndBadGovernance,’ have garnered substantial support on social media. However, the organizers remain largely anonymous, with no official group taking responsibility.
This meeting follows an earlier conclave of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum on Wednesday night and comes after a last-minute cancellation of the National Economic Council meeting earlier scheduled for noon Thursday.
