President Tinubu Restructures Media Team, Approves Bwala, Dare As Co-Spokespersons With Onanuga

Sunday Dare and Daniel Bwala have been approved as co-spokespersons with Bayo Onanuga by President Bola Tinubu in a fresh shake-up in his cabinet.

In a statement released late Monday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, it was disclosed that the role of the president’s spokesperson will no longer be held by a single individual. Instead, Sunday Dare and Daniel Bwala will now jointly serve as spokespersons for the presidency.

The statement detailed that Sunday Dare, previously Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has been reassigned to Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.

Additionally, Daniel Bwala, who was recently appointed as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, has now been redesignated as Special Adviser on Policy Communication.

According to the presidency, this restructuring aims to enhance the effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and activities.

President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the positions of two recently appointed officials in the State House media and communications team to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery.

“The restructuring is as follows: Sunday Dare – hitherto Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.

“Mr. Daniel Bwala – announced last week as Special Adviser, Media, and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser Policy Communication.

“These appointments, along with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency.

“Instead, all the three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government.”

In October, Tinubu sacked five ministers and appointed seven new ones.
