President Tinubu Strengthens Cabinet With New Ministerial Appointments
President Bola Tinubu is set to expand and reinforce his administration by swearing in seven new ministers on Monday, November 4, at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja. This addition follows the Senate’s confirmation of the nominees last week, and the announcement was made by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, via his X account on Sunday.
The new ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, tasked with addressing pressing social issues. Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi will assume the role of Minister of Labour and Employment, a critical position for managing labor relations and employment policies. Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu joins as Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, bringing experience in diplomacy to assist with international relations.
Also joining the cabinet are Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment (Trade and Investment), who will support economic development and investment strategies, and Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, overseeing agricultural sectors key to food security. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata steps in as Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, tasked with supporting urban infrastructure, while Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad becomes Minister of State, Education, focusing on advancements in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
This swearing-in follows Tinubu’s major cabinet reshuffle on October 23, where ten ministers were reassigned, five were discharged, and seven new nominees were introduced. This reshuffling and expansion reflect Tinubu’s continued strategy to adjust his team in alignment with national needs and policy priorities.
