Protesting Residents Block Benin-Agbor Expressway, Seek Government’s Intervention

Residents and truck drivers in Benin City, the Edo State capital, blocked the Benin-Agbor Road, a situation that has brought vehicular movement along the road to a standstill.

According to a driver, the federal or state government needs to fix the road. He insisted that the road is too bad to be ignored.

He added that if the Federal Government did not fix the road, state government should intervene and make the road motorable.

A couple of bystanders said that they knew it was only a matter of time for this outburst to happen and they aren’t taken by surprise, saying the road is actually too bad.

They further said that road users have shown incredible patience with the authorities over the state of the Benin-Agbor road.
