Raheem Sterling To Return To Qatar For England World Cup Quarter-Final Match Against France
England forward, Raheem Sterling will leave the United kingdom for Qatar on Friday (tomorrow) ahead of England’s quarter-final World Cup match against France on Saturday.
According to reports, Sterling left Qatar December 5 after armed intruders broke into his home in the UK while his family were inside.
He also missed England’s 3-0 win over Senegal in the last 16.
He was ruled out of the squad due to a “family matter” shortly before kick-off.
Manager Gareth Southgate then, confirmed Sterling was heading back to the UK and made it known that he would not pressure him to return to Qatar, adding that family is most important.
Southgate had said, “I really don’t know, it’s a situation he needs time to deal with, I don’t want to put any pressure on him.
“Sometimes football isn’t the most important thing and family should come first.”
