Senate Confirms Abdullahi Bello’s Appointment AS CCB Chairman
The Senate has confirmed Abdullahi Bello as the chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau.
Bello’s confirmation comes after a report was presented by Neda Imasuen, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions.
Imasuen noted that no petitions were received challenging Bello’s suitability for the role and praised his credentials.
“The committee received no objections against the nominee, and he demonstrated his qualifications effectively,” said the senator representing Edo South.
“After thorough screening and questions, the committee is satisfied with the qualifications of the nominee as chair of the Code of Conduct Bureau.”
In March, President Bola Tinubu appointed Bello to the position.
The presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement at the time that the president believes that Bello would lead the bureau with “utmost integrity”.
Bello is an assistant forensic accounting and auditing professor at Northumbria University, United Kingdom.
