Chukwuma Soludo Visits Seyi Makinde, Commission Three Projects
Anambra state Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has commissioned three junction improvement projects at Agodi-Gate, Civic Centre and Idi Ape areas of Oyo state.
On Friday, Soludo visited Seyi Makinde, his Oyo counterpart, in Ibadan.
During the visit, the Anambra governor also flagged off the construction of the 32.2 km south-east wing of Rashidi Ladoja circular road.
Soludo commended Makinde for his developmental strides in Oyo, adding that residents of the state are benefiting from the “true essence of governance”.
On his part, the Oyo governor disclosed that the circular road was envisioned by Rashidi Ladoja, a former governor of the state, over 20 years ago.
Makinde said the project is a “product of thinking sustainably”, adding that Nigerians must stop thinking only about the present.
“This project is a product of thinking sustainably. About 20 years ago, His Excellency Senator Rashidi Ladoja envisioned this project and mapped it out,” Makinde said
“Now the project is being executed. This is the type of thinking that will lead to meaningful development. We must stop thinking only about the present, but take actions that will secure our future.
“Yes, some people might say we have to survive today to benefit from the future. Let me say this, the essence of a future-first or thinking sustainably is not primarily that we will benefit, it is that the future will be better. This is a project for the future.”
