Tinubu Appoints Aliyu As ICPC Chairperson
President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, approved the appointment of a new management team for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), just before Senate confirmation.
They include Dr. Musa Aliyu (Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, ICPC) and Mr. Clifford Oparaodu (Secretary to the Commission, ICPC).
Also, he approved the pre-end of tenure leave request for the outgoing Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owosanoye, which commences on November 4, 2023, ahead of the expiration of his tenure on February 3, 2024.
This is “In exercise of powers conferred on the President as established in Section 3(6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000,” a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, revealed on Tuesday.
Ngelale added that the appointment of Mr. Oparaodu as Secretary of the Commission takes immediate effect.
