Two person escapes Death As Bus crashes into Truck in Lagos
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that two individuals narrowly escaped death early Tuesday morning when a commercial bus collided with a slow-moving articulated vehicle at Ojota, Maryland, Lagos. Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, reported that the accident occurred around 4:45 a.m. due to high speed, causing the bus to lose control and collide with the truck from behind.
LASEMA’s Tiger Response Team swiftly responded from their command center in Alausa, Ikeja, conducting a rescue operation to extricate the trapped victims from the bus. Both individuals, who sustained injuries of varying degrees, were promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, which temporarily disrupted traffic flow, the roadway was cleared and reopened before rush hour. Oke-Osanyintolu emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and driving safely to prevent such accidents, underscoring the potential consequences of road traffic incidents on lives and property.
