Tyson Fury Announces a 7-Week Absence From Social Media Ahead of His Fight With Deontay Wilder
WBC Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has announced he will be going on a social media ‘blackout’ for the next seven weeks ahead of his third fight with Deontay Wilder.
Fury vs Wilder 3 is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 9.
And Fury says he will henceforth start his social media blackout and will rely on his management to update his accounts.
Fury wrote on Instagram: “Right guys I’m going offline until October 10, someone else will be keeping you updated.
“Total blackout from me. see you in Vegas. Let the games begin. 7 weeks Saturday till I smash the big dosser again. God bless.”
Fury’s announcement comes after statements credited to his father, John Fury, that he might avoid the fight following the birth difficulties faced by his newborn daughter.
John Fury, the father of Tyson, recently voiced his concern over his son surrounding himself with “yes men” whilst in the US, saying he could lose to Wilder if he didn’t get rid of his ‘yes men’.
Tyson has returned to the UK to look after his newborn daughter and is training with his father, John in Liverpool.
“When he gets off the plane in Las Vegas, you’ve got 200 yes men waiting for him looking to get that from him,” John Fury said.
“‘Yes, Tyson. You’re this, you’re that, you’re the best in the world. We love you.’
“This kid’s heard it all before in my life. They don’t love you, they don’t care you, they just want your money and your profile to make their status bigger for being around you.”
